USAID promotes gender perspectives among partners in violence prevention programming. On January 15-17, USAID’s Violence Prevention Project (VPP) held a workshop for partners representing the private sector, central and local government and civil society to discuss lessons learned on the inclusion of a gender perspective in project activities. Points for discussion included the “Municipality of Guatemala’s Methodological Guide for Youth in Violence Prevention: Girls and Women”; a publication on “Gender and Gangs” by Landivar University’s INTRAPAZ; and a document human trafficking by the Office of the Ombudsman. The event closed with fair focused on best practices. The event featured the participation of some 150 representatives from VPP partner organizations. techand.biz/WP/usaid-promueve-que-se-incorporen-en-la-prevencion-de-la-violencia/, cgnnoticiasdeguatemala.wordpress/2014/01/17/, dca.gob.gt/index.php/template-features/item/26157-realizan-feria-de-buenas-pr%C3%A1cticas-contra-la-violencia.html, reportajede/2014/01/buscan-promover-la-incorporacion-de-relaciones-equitativas-de-poder-entre-mujeres-y-hombres-en-las-acciones-de-prevencion-de-la-violencia/, pdh.org.gt/noticias/noticias-destacadas/item/3183-participan-en-taller-y-feria-del-conocimiento.html#.Ut6l79LnZEg
