USAP Coalition Release 16 September 10, 2013 USAP COALITION HAILS PH SUPREME COURT DECISION ON PDAF Los Angeles- The United States Action Against PDAF calls the latest decision of the Supreme Court of the Philippines that has just issued a restraining order on the release of the PDAF of both the legislative and the executive branches as a tactical victory for the people. This latest legal victory in our battle against systemic corruption in the Philippines means that the pressure we are applying is just and reasonable. This victory, the issuance of a temporary restraining order (TRO) by the high court will not be possible if we did not act and launched the million march mass action last August 26 in Luneta, Manila and other parts of the world including the United States. We, both in the Philippine and the Filipino American community in the United States are now reaping the fruits of our mass actions. Thus we have to be more consistent, persistent and sustained in our actions to attain our goals. Vigorously Pursue sustained mass actions in the U.S. It only proved once again that the court of last resort, like the Supreme Court is vulnerable to public opinion. Though most of its decision favors the ruling class, the people’ mass movement can influence the high court just like in the United States Thus, we call on all allied organizations in the United States to vigorously conduct sustained parallel actions for solidarity and our indignation. In Los Angeles, California, our solidarity action is slated on September 20, 2013 at 5:00 PM at the PH Consulate General, 3600 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90010.
