USDA is looking for a painting to be turned into a poster for Native Heritage Month The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service is inviting American Indian artists to submit original paintings to help commemorate American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month in 2014. One painting will be selected for a nationally-distributed poster. Please see the attached announcements. The theme for the 2014 American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month poster is “Our Land – Our Promise to the Next Seven Generations.” Paintings must be submitted by September 5th. Artists are asked to submit either oil or acrylic paintings on an 18 inch by 24 inch canvas. Artists are also asked to submit a written narrative with their painting. The selected artist will be paid $2,000 by NRCS for the painting and the rights to use the art for the 2014 poster. If those concerns involve the transport of the artwork, please make that contact no later than August 29, 2014. The poster contest winner will be selected by September 12, 2014.
