The foods we choose can have an impact on brain function by helping it to work at its peak performance. Strawberry-banana chia seed smoothie This is a smoothie that tastes too good to be true. With the help of fresh fruit and some chia seeds, you’ll be eager to sip (and maybe spoon) this healthy treat until the last drop! Chia seeds are said to help improve mental focus and concentration, and if that’s not enough, they’re a great source of fiber, antioxidants and protein, and are one of the richest plant-based sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Ingredients: 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced 1 frozen banana (To freeze bananas, peel them and cut into 2-inch slices. Place in sealable freezer bags until ready to use.) 3 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt 1 teaspoon ground chia seeds (You can grind these using a clean coffee or spice grinder.) 1 tablespoon honey Directions: Combine all the ingredients into a blender, cover and blend until smooth.
