USSA is happy to announce we have added to our staff and provided for hopefully more efficient and fair racing. With the addition of a vintage element to the TLR Cup, the additional focus on F-500 with the GPR F-500 series, and being the pilot program for John Hoopers, V-Force Pro-Lite series we have seen the need to bring in additional selected staff members. First of with the retirement of Ken Konop, Tom Wagner, former flagman, and current (when needed) infield announcer will be handling paddock duties. Joining Tom in paddock will be Joann Krueger, who handled similar duties with a well known Vintage circuit in past seasons. Tom and Joann will work jointly, and will handle both Vintage and Late model line ups. Neither person will be dedicated solely to either discipline, we feel this method of operation will make the flow as smooth and orderly as possible. Joining Chief Tech Director Justin Olszewski in tech, will be Matt Proite, whose past crew duties, and drag race experience will be a welcome asset to USSA tech. Additionally for at least, the Ironwood, event we will be bringing in Wyatt Haydorn to work all of the tech areas, but also to offer a special emphasis on the Vintage TLR competitors. Lisa Brown will again head up Registration, and Scoring, she will be accompanied by Deanna Giera as they have operated in the past. This duo is responsible for almost all of the day to day activity at our events, and are not thanked enough for what they do. Lisa and Deanna will have info soon on memberships and how important preregistration will be for next season. In the Tower will be Jeff Korinek, a veteran of over twenty plus years. On the ice, flagging will be AAron Korinek, your perennial announcer Skip Schulz is back to enlighten and entertain the fans from the PA booth. Your Race Director at all events will be Jeff Buchholz, whose past car, sled and other racing experience makes him one of the most knowledgeable race directors available. Race day PR again will be handled by the very capable Henke girls. I will be on hand for tech data services and to help out where needed. Joining us for Safety at Ironwood on Friday will be Kurt Krueger, but on Saturday and Sunday at Ironwood, Kurt will be handling PR and media duties along with extra services for the Ironwood Olympus staff. Make both our existing staff and our new members welcome when you see them. Without them you wouldnt have the opportunity to race USSA events. Watch for special info on insurance, registration, and hot lap sessions in the following weeks. Its gonna be a GOOD year!!!
