Udall’s ‘very hostile’ calls backfire Division of Insurance reports more Coloradans received cancellations due to Obamacare than previously reported GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. – In a surprise announcement on Tuesday, the Colorado Division of Insurance reported that 335,484 health insurance policies holders have received notice that their policies will be cancelled thanks to Obamacare. Originally, the Division reported that 250,000 policies were cancelled. The new numbers were released after internal emails showed U.S. Sen. Mark Udall had his staff make “very hostile” phone calls to the Division, and tried to have the Division “trash” their numbers that were bad for him politically. The numbers are especially damaging to Udall, because he not only cast the deciding vote to pass Obamacare, but he knowingly misled Coloradans when he promised: “If you have an insurance policy you like, doctor or medical facility that provides medical services to you, you’ll be able to keep that doctor or that insurance policy.” Colorado Republican Committee Chairman Ryan Call said that Udall’s “very hostile” phone calls are damaging to his credibility: “It appears that Udall’s ‘hostile’ phone calls have backfired,” “Instead of the Division giving him political cover, they actually reported that even more people lost their coverage because of Obamacare than was previously reported. This is just further evidence that Coloradans cannot trust Sen. Udall to do the right thing.”
