Uduaghan urges inter-state synergy against crimes Written by Victor Sorokwu, Asaba Delta State Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has advised the Nigeria Police to attach more commitment to inter-state operations and synergy among security agencies to check criminal activities in the country. Uduaghan was receiving the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 5, Mr Musa Daura, on a courtesy visit yesterday in Asaba where he said such synergy should be encouraged because kidnappers and other criminals did not limit their activities within specific boundaries. “Please, look at inter-state cooperation in policing because at times, these criminals don’t have boundaries,” he said while imploring the AIG to discourage the practice where complainants take matters to the zonal headquarters, undermining the state command. He observed that some complainants use their influence at the zonal headquarters to obstruct law and order in the state. AIG Daura who was accompanied by senior officers including the Commissioner of Police Mr Alkali Usman commended Uduaghan for his developmental strides in the state. He assured that his men would provide necessary security during the local government elections on Saturday. SOURCE: DAILY TRUST
