Uggg . . some people should have their telephone privileges - TopicsExpress

Uggg . . some people should have their telephone privileges revoked! Or, perhaps, I should just forego using my manners and be rude like the vast majority of everyone else in this town. . . I sent a letter to an escrow officer that was returned due to “insufficient address” however, the address is the address my boss was given by the aforesaid escrow officer directly. . . so, I called her to confirm the address .. . I asked for her directly because my instructions “call her to confirm her address” - not – “call their office to confirm their address” . . . when she answered the phone, I told her my name and where I was calling from . . (note – she is at least my age, if not older) . . I was taught that when I call you it is my responsibility to tell you who I am and why I have called, after all, I called you . . . .well, she didn’t remember my bosses name so she didn’t remember that she would be getting a letter from us, so she asked me for the property address . . well, I said the street name but I probably butchered the pronunciation because I don’t speak Spanish and the Spanish words don’t come out of my mouth with the right sounds . . .so, I spelled the address for her . . .about this time she asked a question and while I was forming the answer, I must have hesitated a split second too long for her and she said “Hello?” . . . which is an ultimate pet peeve of mine . . . for the love of god, can you give someone a few seconds before “Hello” as if the call has dropped?. . . . my pause was because I was trying to figure out how to rephrase my question . . I simply need to confirm her address, we merely represent one of the parties, she isn’t going to give me any information . .so, I am contemplating how to properly and politely rephrase my question when I hesitated . . . .I tell her that this is not an open escrow so her system may not find it . . then she asks me which party are we . . I tell her again where I am calling from and that we represent one of the parties to the transaction . . . “well, with your work you should know that I can’t give you any information without authorization”. . . “Yes, ma’am. I gave you my name and where I was calling from so that you wouldn’t think I was some sort of crackpot asking for your address. I just need to confirm your address because the letter I sent was returned for “insufficient address” . . .
