Uh oh. Rant approaching: Ok.... A lot of people have been posting the demand of boycotts to stores choosing to stay open on holidays. There are for SURE, 2 negatives to this, if you want to use those are complaint points. 1) Employees should be allowed to stay home and celebrate with their families. 2) At what point is it corporate. greed?? Now.... Some perspective. Yes, employees SHOULD be allowed to stay home and celebrate with their families as well. So.... lets give every NID employee, law enforcement officer, paramedic, emt, PG&E worker, military personnel, hospital staff, doctor, and nurse the day off as well. Theyve MORE than earned the right to celebrate. I have water because of them. Im safe because of them. I have power because of them. I have FREEDOM because of them. If Im injured, I have a place to go because of them. But there isnt any outrage that THEY have to work. Its funny to me to hear and see people complain about Kmart or Walmart being open. Is it corporate greed?? More than likely, but how many businesses- in this, the day of self entitlement- force ANY employee to work on a holiday?? And lets say they are.... Is it a job?? Are you being paid?? If Walmart, or Kmart, or whoever else that chooses to be open is asking employees to work for free, then we find outrage. But until retail employees defend, save, rescue, service, or protect me and my family, Im not going to complain about the outrageous conditions they work under to EARN money, in a fragile economy with few jobs. Especially when I know thousands wont ever complain theyre working, because every minute they are, is for us. **End rant**
