UiTM FACULTY OF MUSIC CALL FOR AUDITION SIBELIUS ACADEMY STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME UiTM Faculty of Music announces the Sibelius Academy Student Exchange Programme under the North-South-South Higher Education Institution Network (Programme) funded by the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. As a member of the North-South-South network and Global Network for Performing Arts (GLOPAN), UiTM Faculty of Music has been offered one place for one student to participate in the student exchange programme at the Sibelius Academy in Finland for a period of 4 months in Spring 2014. Description of Student Exchange Programme Opportunity -Full-time study at the Sibelius Academy for one semester (Spring 2014), which will be integrated into your studies at UiTM -You will be involved in courses offered at the Sibelius Academy -All your travel expenses, living allowances, visa expenses, and insurance costs will be covered by the Student Exchange Programme fund Criteria for Application -Open to Bachelor Degree students from Semesters 2 to 5 of any specialisation (ie: Performance, Composition, Music Education, or Music Business) * This student exchange programme is only open for students majoring in western classical instrumentals or western classical singing -You must have a minimum 3.0 CGPA -You must not have had any previous disciplinary action taken against you whilst at UiTM -You must possess suitable characteristics and qualities to represent the faculty, the university, and the country in the Sibelius Academy, Finland -You must possess strong musicianship, leadership, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with others Audition -Applicants will participate in several rounds of the selection process -1st round: Friday, October 4, 2013 -Perform 2 contrasting pieces on your instrument/ voice *Bring 4 copies of each of the pieces - Subsequent rounds will be announced later Application -Submit your name, UiTM ID, major instrument/ voice, and repertoire list to perform in the 1st round of audition -Email to Dr. Hye-Won Jo at pianisthjo@gmail by Friday, September 27, 2013 -Receipt of the application will be acknowledged Note -The UiTM Faculty of Music reserves the right in its absolute discretion to disqualify candidates that are deemed unsuitable.
