Ukraine Confirms Militia Offensive in Rebel Regions Kiev, Jul 16 .- Ukraines National Guard confirmed today the offensive, since this morning, of groups with the popular militias of Donetsk and Lugansk in the Donbass territory as a setback to the lightning operation of the government. The National Guard underlined in its website the offensive of militias in that front, declared a priority by President Piotr Poroshenko, pressured by eastern leader Igor Kolomoiski and the United States due to the interest in an escalation of the internal conflict and the control over gas in that area. Militias hit military posts, controlled by commands of the National Guard, near the Marinovka locality, injuring four people, according to Ria Novosti news agency. Locals in Donetsk told the media the Ukrainian army carried out other raids downtown and dins and shots were heard early this morning. Kiev plans to block all the access routes to the cities of Donetsk and Lugansk in a month, according to announcements by Ukraines National Security and Defense Council. The Parliament of the Popular Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk adopted, on Tuesday, a declaration calling the Ukrainian legislative on supporting the cessation of the punishment operation against rebel territories.
