Ukraine: Makeevka residents flee to Russia after first shelling hits town Residents of Makeevka in the Donetsk Region of Ukraine were seen fleeing the area on Friday. This comes as the town was hit by shelling for the first time during the early hours of Friday morning. Dozens of people could be seen gathering at the central bus station in the town, with many awaiting transportation to Russias Rostov region. One of the facilities damaged in the shelling was the railway station of Makeevka. No casualties have been reported.
