Ukraine: Odessa demand justice for Trade Union fire victims Protesters from the Voice of Odessa organisation picketed the citys regional police building, Wednesday, demanding the release from jail of those who tried to protect the Trade Unions House on May 2. Those who stormed the building were reportedly released some time ago. The protesters felt this was an act of injustice and, in a statement, called for the arrest of those guilty of the murder of the 48 victims of the fire. The Odessa Trade Unions House was set on fire May 2, resulting in the deaths of 48 people and the injuring of 174. The fire began after violent clashes erupted between rival rallies of anti-government protesters and radicals supporting the Maidan-imposed authorities in Kiev. Tires, a protesters tent camp and the Trade Unions House – which had anti-Kiev activists inside – were set ablaze.
