Ukraine is in danger! Stop Putin! Boycott the Olympic Games in Sochi! Yanukovych can soak Euromaidan in blood. Dictator Putin is heavily involved. The situation can go out of control any minute. To avoid the rise of a dictatorship in the heart of Europe, Western governments must act. Demonstrate solidarity with Ukrainians by boycotting Sochi Olympic Games. Maidan has been demonstrating for over two months in a hope to be heard by the President. The government has been ignoring millions of people all this time naming them “bandits” and “terrorists”. Instead of hearing the people, Yanukovych has adopted laws restricting fundamental human rights and freedoms and basically banning all the demonstrations. The line was crossed on January 22, when two protestors were murdered by snipers. Another four have died as a result of severe injuries. Protesters are tortured and humiliated. A video of a man who was stripped of clothes in sub-zero temperatures and forced to pose for the photos with the police is a sordid reminder of the Nazi times. Over 50 journalists have been injured since the start of the protests, many others are persecuted. Leader of the Automaidan, a civic activist group, has vanished last week and is still missing. No illusions are left. There will be no negotiations. On January 25th, it became known that Yanukovych is ready to crack down on the demonstrators and introduce the state of emergency. Regional governments throughout Ukraine are taken over by the protestors. Minister of Internal Affairs has called Ukrainian people “extremists” and is expanding detention centers to host tens of thousands of people. The talks between the President and the opposition turned out futile. We hear reports about new victims every day. We are talking about hundreds of people – men, women and children. They are abducted, badly beaten, tortured, kept hostage, water cannoned at -20C temperature, showered with stun grenades and tear gas. Verified sources confirm the involvement of the Russian special forces deployed to inject terror and suppress the protestors. The present Ukrainian government has become a Kremlin’s puppet and is no longer making its own decisions. The bloodshed scenario, which is unfolding in Ukraine, was designed by the Russian security service FSB. And now Yanukovych is waiting for Putin’s order to start the bloodshed. It is no coincidence that Stalin sent millions of Ukrainians to the labor camps, deported to Siberia and starved them to death. Only physical liquidation can subdue the Ukrainian spirit. The only chance to prevent the catastrophe is to stop Putin. He must hear the voice of the free world. Time for talks is over. It is time to act. We call on the international community to boycott the Sochi Olympic Games! We understand that we are asking you about a difficult choice. If you don’t make your statement today and take part in the “bloody” Olympic Games, other nations will suffer tomorrow. People of Ukraine will tackle the criminal regime of Yanukovych – please help us fend off the authoritarian regime of Putin. Putin must stop violence and stop interfering into Ukraine’s internal affairs. He is the only one who can order Yanukovych to stop the bloodshed. This is the only option to open doors for the resolution of the crisis. This is how we can avoid more victims. We ask international community to side with the Ukrainian people and provide support. We ask journalists and civic activists to make our plea heard. Boycott the “bloody” Olympic Games!
