Ukrainian Parliament urges international community to recognize so-called Donetsk Peoples Republic and Luhansk Peoples Republic as terrorist organizations On January 14, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed an Address to the European Parliament, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, national parliaments of EU member-states, USA, Canada, Japan, and Australia on the mass shootings of people near the city of Volnovakha, Ukraine. Ukrainian lawmakers called on: To continue the policy of sanctions against Russia as a country that, in breach of international law, has annexed Crimea (Ukraine) and keeps supporting terrorist organizations - Donetsk Peoples Republic and Luhansk Peoples Republic; To include the so-called Donetsk Peoples Republic and Luhansk Peoples Republic into the list of terrorist organizations; To explore the possibility of providing military assistance for Ukraine to strengthen its defense capabilities; To continue the policy of not recognizing illegal annexation of Crimea; To work out a program of assistance for Ukraine; To join efforts in countering Russian propaganda.
