Ukrainian journalist Darya Chizh exposes Femen. This video about Femen insider Darya Chizh was very famous in Ukraine. However it was produced in Ukrainian language only and for that reason western audience is not familiar with it. I will explain the story. Ukrainian journalist Darya Chizh (TV channel 1+1, Ukraine) was doing an official interview with Femen for 1+1 TV channel. After that she decided to become a Femen insider, so after the interview she came back to Alexandra Shevchenko and convinced her that she likes their movement, she wants popularity and she wants to become a member of their organization. Alexandra agreed and Darya Chizh started her training and probation period at Femen. Later she went to Paris with them to participate in action. As their member she witnessed many interesting details about Femen, including their tactics, expenses they pay to prepare their actions, expenses they pay to rent their offices in Kiev and Paris, their salaries and many other things. In this video Darya Chizh tells her story. Many Femen supporters can tell that it’s a fake story produced to deface Femen. Indeed after this video appeared on 1+1 TV channel Femen stated that it’s all nothing but a lie and they are going to sue 1+1 channel. To be fair and correct I will skip what Darya Chizh is telling in this video, but only translate her dialogues with Alexandra Shevchenko filmed on camera (it’s seems to be a hidden camera). Please, read these dialogues (time marks are shown in min:sec): 2:25 Darya Chizh: Sasha, listen, journalism is a good thing but I want popularity. Alexandra: But you have to clearly understand that it’s all is on the permanent basis, so it’s a job. We have four people working permanently and if you are ready to become a member of our group … 3:07 Darya Chizh: What I have to do? Alexandra: For the beginning, just right now we have to take a picture of you being topless in front of this wall. I want to make sure that you are ready to be undressed and when we will be at the action together you suddenly will not tell “I am not going”. I want to make sure that you are ready for this psychologically. Darya Chizh: Ok Alexandra: Ok, let’s go, remove your clothes. 3:49 Alexandra: You have to watch with some kind of an eye on the back of your head that they [reporters] are filming you. You must stick with your hands to some objects to keep you in the view of the video cameras for at least one or two extra seconds, they [reporters] should have enough time to film you. You must be able to turn around to show your face. If you are running it’s clear they will only film your back, so after running you have to turn around and they can film your face and most importantly your boobs. I guess, enough said. Their purpose is not protest itself (they say “Our mission is protest”), in reality their ‘mission’ is pure P.R. outcome – to be filmed and caught on cameras and show them to public using TV media. They DON’T do any actions without of being filmed, like many other protesters do, to just say to politicians “We do not agree with certain things!”. Before any of their action they collect a bunch of TV reporters by notifying them, that is why we usually see a lot of reporters and cameras on all of their actions. This is how they get popularity. All other things told in this video (about thousands of Euros spent on their actions) are interesting but not that important. Another journalist in this video says: if all TV channels in Ukraine will just make agreement to don’t show their actions, Femen quickly become nothing. youtube/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=AoHP70PJT_E
