Ullambana Festival Honoring our ancestors. Honoring our predecessors. Honoring our elders. Honoring those who have helped us. Honoring those who have passed on. Full Moon Moon Dharma Rite Wednesday 21 August 2013 @ 8.15pm Ullambana is the festival where we honor our ancestors and those who have passed on. We would not be here but for them. When on the ancestor day, the full moon of the 7th lunar month or 21st August this year, we will conduct the full moon rite in their honour. Across many faiths and cultures, offering prayers for those who have passed on is thought of as one of the greatest acts of charity and kindness. Even if we never knew them, our ancestors have contributed to our lives as much as those we have had the chance to know and love. Let us come together to pay our respects and give thanks to them all by offering incense, candles and praying for their eternal happiness. Candles will be available for you to light, and you can make an offering as you see fit. You can attend as an observer and melt into a healing meditation whilst listening to the chanting of mantra by the Buddhist practitioners. This session is free of charge, although a donations towards the candle and running of the centre is always welcomed. Supervised children also welcome.
