Ultimate mentoring program – Mentoring, nutrition, exercise & stage preparation by Lina Jade Ultimate Hair, Make-up & tanning package by The Ultimate Beauty by Lina Jade team. Im so proud of my client & friend Shelby who placed 2nd in the bikini tall novice & 3rd in the Bikini Tall open in her first ever debut on stage. We only had 14 weeks to prepare whilst she works doing a FIFO 4:1 roster but from the first day we sat down together to choose the competition and division, she was so dedicated and followed all the training & nutrition programs down to a tee. Not only did Shelby follow the programs, but I emphasised from the start the importance of educating her as to why we are doing certain things and how necessary it is to feed her body essential micronutrients, Antioxidants, phytonutrients, and foods that yes help to build lean muscle and reduce body fat but also prevent a pleather of common diseases today, increase longevity and aid in her recovery. As a side effect Shelby would always comment on the extra energy she has and that she never felt so great in her life!! In order to do this she learnt how to predominantly consuming a whole foods plant based diet with lots of super foods and very limited amounts of animal protein, something I’m so proud of Shelby for doing and feel so happy when she tells me that I have helped her life and she is now encouraging friends and family around her to incorporate more healthy alternatives. I would also like to add that before I started with Shelby, I emphasised the importance of keeping a balanced life and wanted her to take away a healthy body image from this experience. We achieved this by working on her strengths, encouragement & progressing slowly with her nutrition and exercise programs, as a result, after she has finished competing will comfortably sustain her physique and mental frame of mind! Thus, I would like to leave by saying, with the fitness industry now becoming what I would call “normalized” and many people choosing to compete, please just be mindful of your reasons and the people you choose to support and guide you on this journey. I often worry of the damage it can be causing through bad body image, unrealistic expectations, deprived nutrition advice & extreme exercise programs, which can lead to things such as possible eating disorders, damaging behaviour and health conditions such as Adrenal fatigue, chronic fatigue & metal disorders to name a few.
