Unbelievable! The Church/State separation is intended to prevent the government from adopting a State Religion (like The Church of England for instance.) It was never intended to prevent a courthouse from displaying the Ten Commandments, or any other activity where all references to a deity are scrubbed from public or government spaces. In fact, if all signs of religion were removed, wouldnt the government be guilty of adopting Atheism as the de facto State Religion??? Case law be damned. If it leads to an absurd result is should be overturned, but too many Judges and Justices seem to have lost site of this. Either their practice of law was more results for cash and not justice for clients and they subsequently lost track of the fundamentals - or they just dont have the moxie to do the right thing because they would risk being overturned and suffer from bruised egos. This is alleged to be an assignment turned in by Second-Grader, Ryleigh Watts, in the Cerro Gordo Elementary School in Columbus County, North Carolina. The school released statements trying to justify its actions, which involved more than just the teacher, and now claim that it didnt even happen. [What, is John Cleese their Superintendent?] This school needs to be held accountable. The fraud pretending to be an educator needs to be removed. I invite you all to drop a brief note or letter in the mail (see address at the bottom of the post) and share your thoughts with the schools administrators. If nothing else, it will bring their office activity to a halt so that they can deal with the over abundance of mail. And remember, while the administrators are paid well, they are not paid hourly....
