Unbelievable the service Ive been given at Halfords Autocentre in Kettering... I took my car there last week to get a service done and already had passed the MOT in December but had a red light in the dash board.. I had been told by a friend mechanic that it was like the break pads or needed to refill the oil but when I got my car there the manager said it was for sure something major in the mail system... I left my car there as they wanted to check in the computer and a few hour later they call me to say my car needed a hell of a lot of things to be done because it wasnt drivable and they couldt put the wheels back onunless all the parts where put back new... so really upset as Ive been in hospital and only diven my car for over two weeks I told them to do the most necesary as I dont have much money... I end up paying nearly £600 for the repair and believe me I was nearly crying... when I got in my car and nearly driving away they phoned me saying they made a mistake with the number.. I live just up the road from them so I didnt need my right side miror at all but when I got home I realised with the wind the miror had moved and could see it had been hit badly... I started calling them with no luck the telephone was always busy or they wouldnt pic up and I had a client at home... finally I phoned again next day and they asked me to take the car back to have a look.. after two days they call me back to tell me to bring the car to get the miror replaced as an act of good will ... I went there twice yesterday.. the first time they where busy and the second time we agreed for half past four and when I got there they said they where about to close and they had told me another time... I am really pissed off I feel Ive been ripped off and taken the piss off after with the miror.. can anybody give me advise in what to do please and also does anybody know a good reliable trustworthy mechanic who could do a service to my car as they didnt do anything to it? I very much apreciate any coments xxx
