Unbroken Fellowship 3 Fellowship with God in Christ is the essence of living the Christ-life. The Christ-life is the life of Christ in us who are born again of God. We began to live the Christ-life when we received Christ and were born again of God into children of God. Our new birth into the life of Christ is the same experience as our dead sinful nature being crucified and buried with Christ and our new nature raised with Christ to live in the resurrection life of Christ. The new birth describes our sharing in the Divine Nature and the resurrection with Christ describes our sharing in the life of God in Christ. And so, both our new birth and our resurrection with Christ represent the beginning of our Divine union with God in Christ. It is this Divine union that brings us into eternal unbroken fellowship or communion with God in Christ. We are born again of God to share in the nature of the immortal God and we are raised from death to live the life of the eternal Christ. Our unbroken fellowship with God in Christ is sustained by our sharing in the nature of our immortal God and living the life of our eternal Saviour. Our self-existence or sense of being independent and alienated from God ends in Christ. We no longer live or exist as us or individuals separate from Christ. Our identity and personality are completely defined in Christ. In other words, our fellowship with Christ is the full substance of who we are and the life we live after we are born again of God or raised into life in Christ. The all-powerful unending life of God in Christ, eternal life, is the life which flows through the veins of our spirit-beings. John 15:4-5: “Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.” John 17:22-23: “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. Romans 8:38-39: “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from Gods love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from Gods love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Colossians 2:6-7: “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”
