Unconscious Bias – a Bigger Block than We Know A free panel discussion Thursday, December 11 from noon – 1pm followed by a brief reception. This free panel discussion will explore the personal and professional sides of “unconscious bias.” We all have “blind spots” based on our individual backgrounds and experience that can get in the way of treating others fairly, in spite of our best intentions. What is the impact on people who experience bias regularly, and what ramifications does this impact have for society? How can we actively expand our own worldview and that of others around us with mutual respect? The panelists will explore these questions and more, speaking from their own experience, current research, and practice. Attendees will learn practical tools that can be applied immediately to broaden their understanding of others.
