Under Attack at Work Have you ever felt like you just must be THE ONE??? Lately, Ive heard of several friends having to deal with seemingly unending subtle (or not so subtle) character-grenades being tossd at them from superiors or coworkers in the workplace. Because you claim the Christian faith, it seems that no matter what the issue, these bosses can always find fault with your contribution. These co-workers seem to look for the slightest detail to magnify a mistake, or will even invent a discrepancy in order to raise doubt about your performance; all in an attempt to get you to act out-of-character. Not only do they seem to belittle you at every opportunity, but they find an extra measure of satisfaction by picking at you in front of an audience. They look for a worldly reaction so they can say, And I thought you were a Christian??? So as you stand in the bathroom mirror preparing for work on Monday morning, inevitably you asked yourself, How did I get this dang target on MY back? Do I even want to go back into that place and deal with that _____________? (I wont fill in the blank, but hey... Youre in your own mirror, in your own house...lol) Well, this is where the rubber meets the road. What are you made of? How long can you endure? How do you respond? Is yours a cotton-candy type faith thats big a fluffy in the sunshine, but shrinks to almost nothing when soaked with a trial? This is what youve been preparing for all this time. All through your Christian walk, youve been lifting the heavy weight of persecution to prepare THIS PARTICULAR AND SPECIFIC muscle for use. What did you expect? YOURE A CHRISTIAN! 1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: SO NOW WHAT??? Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; I know... I know... Not what you wanted to hear right now. Youre thinkn,But shes trying to cost me my livelihood!!! I know. But hes constantly embarrassing me in front of my coworkers... I know. But I didnt do anything to deserve this!!! Yep. I know. While its real and it hurts, our standard and example, Jesus showed us none of that is really important. You should know, even if they dont, who theyre being used by. They are being used by Satan. In the workplace, were all parties to a contract to organize life a certain way and when someone is not living up to their end of the agreement, persecution can be the result. In due time, that ALWAYS works itself out. Right now, I know they get on your nerves, but we live in a falln world, so human ownership of this behavior need not be attributed. Its a waste of time. It aint even their fault. Satan is a formidable foe and he knows who to use, and how to push your buttons. Thats his specialty. While some of the important truths of your situation will be left untreated by any post I could ever upload to facebook, the magnitude of your anxiety is not lost on Christ. I maintain... Stay in your lane, and Pray FOR them. Keep the faith, FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT, and finish well in Christs eyes... Not your coworkers eyes. They dont have a heaven or hell to put you in. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD. Now show me in that verse where is says no weapon will ever form or no tongues will ever rise against you? They will form... They just wont prosper... Lord, Your will. Your way. Nothing more. Nothing less. In Jesus name... Amen!
