Under arrest! These four suspects have been charged with Attempted Murder in a shooting that left a 15-year-old victim paralyzed. On December 11th, the victim and some of his friends were throwing eggs at cars near the Seminole Ridge Apartments near Hiawassee and Silver Star. The owner of one of the cars hit by eggs, 23-year-old Reginald Haywood, is believed to have picked up 19-year-old Ktwan McDuffy and his 20-year-old brother Tommy McDuffy near the area of Silver Star and Bonaire. 18-year-old Gabriela Simmons is believed to be the driver of the car. Night Investigations detectives say all four suspects drove back to the scene, and Ktwan and Tommy confronted the victim and at some point, shots were fired across a playground area injuring the victim. Night Investigations detectives have identified the shooter as Katwan McDuffie. All four have been arrested and are charged with Attempted First Degree Murder. The victim is still in the hospital in serious condition. Sheriff Demings believes this case was solved by round-the-clock investigative efforts, and that success was ultimately achieved due to a tip that was provided by the community.
