Undergraduate Research Experience Paid Internships We are looking for two exceptional undergraduate students from across the Faculty of Arts. These internships provide a fantastic opportunity to work to produce a fantastic event, the fourth annual Undergraduate Research Experience (UGRE). The event is both interdisciplinary and exhilarating, taking a refreshing twist on the academic conference by offering such events as quizzes, interactive workshops, not to mention a very high standard of undergraduate papers. More information about UGRE is available at arts.leeds.ac.uk/ugresearch/ugre/ Being a Student Lead of UGRE is an opportunity to put your skills to the test: creativity, organisation, attention to detail, people skills. Although you will be placed in a challenging role and be expected to maintain your attention to university work at the same time, you will be supported by Tess Hornsby Smith, the Faculty Student Education Enhancement Officer There are two internships available, with distinct but inter-related roles. You may apply for one or both of the internships. We are looking for one intern to manage the running of the event, and another to manage the marketing and promotion of the event. The tasks involved in both internships will include: • Take part in the team recruitment process and organise your sub-teams • Lead weekly (at least) meetings, delivering feedback • Set regular group targets and review progress • Organise and meet with Directors of Student Education in the Schools Hourly rate £7.41 per hour Contract: Up to 100 hours, (mainly carried out before February 19 2014).
