Unexpectedly frightingly few minutes for Goodloe--and us--this afternoon: Bill the Bug Guy was here for his routine 3-month visit (no vermin recently, thank God!), and Goodloe was sunning himself on the patio. I didnt realize that Bill was about to spray there, so I didnt get the cat indoors in time--he hid, got sprayed slightly, and ran out the gate. General freak-out ensued. John found the poor kitty cowering under the shrubbery in front of the house and brought him in, where he ran under the bed. We chased/dragged him out, and Bill and I scrubbed the flank that got sprayed with soap and water, just to make sure. Now Goodloe is napping peacefully on our bed; I think the three people involved--John, me, and Bill the Bug Guy--are probably still more traumatized than the cat!
