Unfortunately, against my own teachings, I had a small taste of revenge this week. I slipped. I hate to confess that. But I will tell you this. It left a horrible and bitter taste in my mouth. No wonder the bible says, Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. I do not understand how people live with themselves constantly getting even. Just that one offense has kept me up all night and troubled all day today. How do folks live like that. Year after year. Forgiveness brings peace.
