Uniquely stressful situation of a lot of people thinking your surname is Harvell when in fact the vv is a simulated w. I feel I never have ground to correct people when it arises, because Im the one to have induced the misconception! I guess Ive put off addressing this problem for like 11 or 12 months because I dread to have people feel deceived, or have people feel like theyve been stupid, or have people think I changed it to sound more exotic or whatever. I went from Harwell to Harvvell on Facebook when I changed my name from John to Jack; at the time it made sense as a way to make myself unsearchable while still retaining a degree of familiarity or relatability. But now everyone knows me as Jack the purpose of it seems lost. Theres a strange feeling that comes when youre repeatedly addressed with a name with which you dont identify: you sort of feel like an impostor, with the real Jack Harvell tied up in a broom cupboard somewhere. IM SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION
