United State Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy arrived in Taiwan Sunday evening for a two-day visit, the first American Cabinet-level official to travel to Taiwan in nearly 14 years. Administrator Gina McCarthy will be in Taipei and Hanoi April 14-16 to highlight environmental cooperation between the United States and partners within the Asia-Pacific region, and to underscore the importance of environmental education. While in Taiwan, Administrator McCarthy will meet with senior environmental authorities, other leading Taiwan authorities, and the American Institute in Taiwan. She will also deliver a keynote speech at National Taiwan University, launch a new partnership on environmental education and meet with members of the American business community in Taiwan.
