United States Department of Agriculture figures show a decline in the nutrient content of the 43 crops it has tracked since the 1950s. So even when we are eating whole foods, were getting substantially less nutrition per calorie than we used to. For example, you now have to eat 3 apples to get the same amount of iron as you would have gotten from a single 1940 apple. It is theorized that we overeat in a quest for these missing nutrients. For the first time in history it is possible to be overfed and undernourished! However, another way to bridge this nutritional gap is to regularly use an encapsulated, dehydrated whole food supplement such as Juice Plus+.
