University Placement Coordination Cell, BHU Workshop on Mentoring Expectations and Developing Competencies in Gen-Y Placement Coordination Cell, Banaras Hindu University in association with Faculty of Management Studies is organizing a two day Workshop with the theme “Mentoring Expectations and Developing Competencies in Gen-Y” on 22nd–23rd January 2015 from 09:00 am to 5:00 pm at Prabandh Bhawan, Faculty of Management Studies. The workshop aims to provide an interface to the students that would help in grooming them as well prepare them in a better way to shoulder the challenges lying ahead in their career. The workshop is designed for Post Graduate courses with preference to special courses. The role of HR has changed greatly since medieval times when the major motivational factors were basic human necessities and the role of HR was to arrange for these in proportion to the work done. Today, organizations should consist of fast, flexible and dynamic teams of enthusiastic, motivated, creative and fully self expressed people. Human resource will thus have to play a substantial role in the business. As organizations prepare for the arrival of Generation Y-employees, questions erupt about the latters values and aspirations, and how we can engage them at workplaces; so that the development of both the parties is ensured. This workshop provides a strong foundation in the core elements of HRM. The workshop is interactive and participative. The practical exercises are designed to help transfer the learning gained during the workshop back to the workplace. Distinguished speakers including Ms. Renu Bohra (Director HR, D B Schenkar), Dr. B.R. Singh (Chairman, Strategic Management Consultant, Former Group Director & Advisor, HR, Ispat Steel,Mumbai), Mr. Ajay Sharma (Executive President, Jaiprakash Associates Ltd.) having rich experience in the corporate world would be a part of the workshop. The inaugural session of the workshop will be presided over by the Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Girish Chandra Tripathi. All students attending all sessions of the workshop will be issued Certificate of Participation. REGISTRATION: • It is required that the Faculty/Department/Course must register their students by mailing the list of students as well as their contact details (Name, Father’s Name, Course, Year/Semester, Email id, mobile no., Department, Faculty) in an excel sheet at [email protected] latest by 19th January 2015, Monday. A hard copy of the same duly forwarded by the concerned authority should also reach the undersigned by that date. Students should not approach individually to us. • The concerned authorities are requested to give priority to cover more programmes and nominate only those students who sincerely want to undergo this workshop. Nominations may kindly be restricted to 10-15 from both year of professional course and 7-10 from other courses. In case of over-nominations, we will give preference to professional courses. • Please submit soft and hard copies in one lot. The final list of students selected for attending the workshop will be mailed by Tuesday, 20 January 2015 to the respective Faculty/ Department/ Course. Only those students shall participate whose name is confirmed by us. MANDATORY INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS: . • Students are instructed to be present on both the days of workshop throughout all sessions. • It is mandatory for all students attending the workshop to bring their notepad, pencil and pens. • All students should be in formal dress code. • Students are advised to maintain the discipline and decorum throughout. • Students are advised to participate in the interaction with relevant points. We, therefore request you to send nominations as mentioned above at the earliest but not later than 19th January, 2015.
