Unless you have been hibernating for the last few weeks, you, like me, have been reminded in very painful ways of how broken our world is. The Ukrainian situation, the airliner shot from the skies, the fighting between Israel and the Palestinians, the new crisis in Iraq, the Ebola outbreak and now Ferguson, Missouri. We claim to be a nation of laws, we wrap ourselves in the flag, we claim Jesus Christ as Savior, and yet the racial divide in this country is as wide as its ever been. There has been much economic progress...granted, but progress where it really matters has been woefully lacking. We dont care about each other. The rich continue to fleece the poor like sheep, the powerful oppress the weak just because they can, and all in the name of capitalism. It is time for good people to find their voices. Dr. King said that the problem in America is not the deeds of the bad people...it is the apathy of the good people. Unless well intentioned people sit down and talk with out yelling in a genuine effort to find solutions to our problems, America will become a historical afterthought. The enemy is already in the gate...biding his time while we destroy each other. The problems in America are not related to whats going on around us...they come from within us, and if we are to find solutions to our many problems, those solutions must come from within us, as well. These are my thoughts. Feel free to share yours, and it is okay to disagree.
