Uno s Spinoccoli meal is pretty good stuff usually. This evening, I was excited to learn that my wife, Matilda ( thats Beth...sometimes she is Georgetta lol) had received a digital coupon...Buy One Get One Free, so it was off to Unos for the aforementioned dish. We were greeted and seated quickly...and a nice young lady arrived promptly to get our beverage order. Spinoccoli Spinoccoli Spinnocoli. We both ordered Spinoccoli. I ordered a salad, which we planned to split. Our tea came quickly, and our server did a great job keeping up with my unsweet tea habit. We drank tea, waited, talked, waited, talked, waited, texted, waited. Finally, after about twenty five minutes, no salad and about three glasses of tea for me, our server arrived back at our table to announce that just as they ( the kitchen folks) were about to prepare our long-awaited Spinoccoli, they discovered they were out of it and we would have to choose another meal. We just looked at one another, then at the server. REALLY? Back to menu, we selected Romano Encrusted Parmesan Chicken with penne and marinara (for me) and Shrimp Scampi ( for Matilda). So, we drank tea, and talked, drank, talked, drank, talked, and twenty more minutes and two glasses of tea later (mine), I flagged down the server to ask if my salad was nearing completion. A few minutes later it was delivered. I liked the floating salad (lol) but Beth didnt really care for the excessive raspberry vinaigrette dressing. She didnt eat salad. So we drank tea, and talked, and drank, and talked, and drank, and talked (another glass or two of tea for me). Finally, our entrees landed in front of us, only an hour or so after we arrived, but we did have some great conversation and tea in the meantime while we watched our neighboring tables alive, eat! Pay and leave. My chicken breasts were very nicely cooked, marinara and cheese great tasting, lots of pasta, most which I left to the table cleaning crew. Beths meal was a bit disappointing....four...count em FOUR mostly tasteless SHRIMP, a mound of very dry vermicelli and someone in the kitchen was extremely SKIMPY on the SCAMPI! When the server returned, Beth noted the deficiencies of her meal. The server said oh Im so sorry you dont like it. No offer to bring more scampi sauce or shrimp. WOW! I also asked if the meals typically came with breadsticks. She stated that the only ones ready were broken so she decided on her own that she shouldnt bring us any.. REALLY? Just an observation...who could ever imagine that we had planned to chew the breadsticks into much smaller...very much smaller pieces before swallowing the bread. Lol. Beth ate three shrimp and shared one with me. Matilda left the whole bowl of pasta. We asked for our check. It came with the salad charged four dollars more than it was supposed to cost (server fixed it of course). Beth gave the iPhone coupon to the server...the coupon was for the Insiders Appreciation Event. As part of the coupon, we also got delicious samples of two appetizers and a small desert plus a gift bag ( we didnt get the gift bag). Overall, I give the experience 😩😩😩😩😌. Four frowns and one very very hesitant smiley. We shall return for Spinoccoli another day...or maybe not!
