Unprecedented preparations are on for Modi’s Australia tour so that it becomes even more successful and expansive than his US tour. Modi is going to Australia for four days to take part in the G-20 Summit. The plan is to convert this trip into a power-pack event. Four big programmes have been organised for the country’s four big cities — Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane. Modi will meet the Indians living in the country at an event in Sydney’s Olympic Park. It is estimated that more than 21,000 Indians will attend the event and the event is being planned along the lines of Modi’s Madison Square event in the US. For this, the Indo-Australia Community Foundation has been formed, which is working on registering Indians for the event. Australia’s Prime Minister Tony Abbott will welcome Modi at not only Canberra but also at Melbourne Cricket Grounds, where a gala dinner is being hosted for 500 special guests as a welcome gesture for Modi. Modi will also address the Australian Parliament in Canberra and this is the first time an Indian will do this.
