Until the Selangor palace acknowledges Khalid’s loss of the state lawmakers’ confidence, he may continue to function as its chief administrator.And because he is still MB, his decisions as MB are still valid.Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim retains authority to commit Selangor to enforceable agreements until the Sultan decides against retaining him as mentri besar.Just because he has lost majority support doesn’t mean he is not MB anymore.The Selangor Sultan is currently abroad and is scheduled to return on August 23.Until the loss of confidence in Khalid is recognised by the Selangor palace, Khalid remains the head of the administration, albeit in a caretaker capacity, and may continue running the state with the aid of at least four executive councillors.The state administration shall continue while the matter is resolved with the endorsement and acceptance of the Sultan on a new mentri besar,The Sultan is the final seal on the appointment, removal and changes to the state executive guided by laws and mandate from the DUN, be it from a letter of endorsement or motion passed by the House,State government deals made before the Sultan decides on the MB would be valid..
