Until the late 1960s the KKK enjoyed prominent membership from - TopicsExpress

Until the late 1960s the KKK enjoyed prominent membership from southern Democratic Party politicians. That changed forever with Richard Nixons Southern Strategy and the Independent Presidential campaign of former Democrat Alabama Governor George Wallace. The trend toward a GOP south steamrolled in the 1970s. In 1991, Grand Wizard KKK leader David Duke ran for and was elected to the Louisiana State Legislature as a Republican. He then went on to just miss being elected Governor, The RNC did everything possible to defeat DUKE, including breaking ranks and having then President George Bush endorse his Democratic opponent, former Governor Edwin Edwards. Today, now Libertarian Party member, David Duke is threatening to return the favor by outing KKK supporting Republicans. He has already made good on this promise by fingering GOP House Minority Whip Steve Scalise. STAY TUNED.... MORE TO FOLLLOW.
