Up close with Uganda BRSS Franchise Teams Know Your Teams ahead of Full Packaged Rugby This Saturday With the annual Bamburi super series 2014 edition set to kick off this Saturday at Kyadondo Rugby club, Ugsport Fuse chose to torch teams,coaches and captains for the two Uganda Franchise after the maiden series dust settled. With Hima Rwenzori believed to be the most successful Ugandan Franchise having been to two finals in 2011 and in 2013, this year they also qualified after playing as Team Crocs at the Protector Rugby Super Series,made up of players from Kobs, Mutoni Warriors and Impis. Counterparts Protector Victoria who emerged second in the Protector Super Series do boast of vast experience too entering this years Bamburi Rugby Super Series. They largely comprise of players from Protector Heathens and Toyota Buffaloes but have beefed up their squad with players from the other franchises. Hima Rwenzori Coach Allan Musoke Sokee is registering his first debut as Bamburi Rugby Super Series coach after making his coaching debut in March 2014 when he coached team Crocs in the Protector Rugby Super Series. He played BRSS for the Victoria franchise in 2010 and is one of Uganda’s most decorated players also the all-time top try scorer for Uganda at national team level. Musoke played for the African Leopards team that is made of the great players in the continent. Hima Rwenzori Captained by Simon Wakabi a former Uganda Rugby Cranes star will this weekend unveil rugby at its best in terms of command and being exemplary. He played BRSS for team Victoria in 2009 and is an experienced fullback/winger with immense talent, he brings lots of experience and calm leadership to this young Rwenzori team. He will be backed by support from key players Victor Wadia, Adnan Mutebi, Lawrence Wakabi, Ronald Mussajjagulanyago and Adrian Kasito among others Protector Victoria Coach Robert Seguya aka Sogy is making his debut in the BRSS having led his Team Protectors to 2nd place in the PRSS. He has been coaching for close to 3 years now having also previously coached Hana School to a super 8 title in 2013, Buffaloes in the clubs league and Engsol Tigers in the nationwide league. He is a Uganda legend having served for many years on various national teams. He has had a decorated career as a player and played for the African Leopards team that brings together the top players in the continent. Victoria Captain Michael Tamale will be making his BRSS debut in this tournament. He has had a long illustrious career at the University side, Impis and recently moved to the Kyadondo based Heathens rugby Club. The hard running inside center established himself at the PRSS as a calm and collected leader and will do well to bring the boys together. Tamale has backup in a crop of key players Dennis Tialata Murithi, Denis Mulo, Pius Ogena, Roland Bahendeka, U-19 sensational Solomon Okia among others.
