Up until 1959, Afrika was dominated by European powers. And their complete control over Afrika. They projected the image of Afrika negatively. Europeans projected Afrika always in a negative light; jungles, savages, and cannibals. Naturally, it became pessimistic to me and you, and I began to hate it. We did not want anyone to tell us anything about Afrika much less call us an Afrikan. And in hating Afrika, and in hating the Afrikan we ended up hating ourselves, without even realizing it, because you cannot hate the roots of the tree and not hate the tree.” We must come to realize that we are a part of Afrika, because we are Afrikans! ONE AFRIKAN LOVE !!!
