Upanishadas.. Kathopanishada is a part of Krishna Yajurveda. There are four Vedas and each Veda is broadly divided into four parts called, Samhita, Brahmana, Arnyaka and Upanishadas. Kathopanishada is a story, in which there is a conversation between Yama (The Ruler of Death) and Nachiketa (The Son of Uddalaka Muni) regarding the issue of life after death of the body. Nachiketa requested for his three boons of much more than worldly objects while Yama argues for requesting him another booms of worldly objects. Nachiketa argues against it. And this way the story goes. It is very elevating story for the seeker of The Truth. It deserves the most careful consideration of all who wants to know Indian culture and philosophical ideas. This Upanishad is very popular not only in India but also all over world. This Upanishad has always been considered as one of the best Upanishads. It has been translated into many other languages also. But here I am going to translate this Upanishad into two languages ( sanckrit and English) at one place on my blog. facebook If u Like my thought then please give your suggestion on it to make it more correct हिंदी अनुवाद .............................. कठोपनिषद कृष्ण यजुर्वेद का एक भाग है । वेद चार हैं और प्रत्येक वेद चार भागों में विभक्त हैं जिन्हें संहिता,ब्राह्मण,आरण्यक तथा उपनिषद् के नाम से जाना जाता है। कठोपनिषद एक कथा है जिसमें यम (मृत्यु के देवता) और नचिकेता (उद्दालक मुनि के पुत्र) के मध्य (शरीर की) मृत्यु के बाद जीवन के विषय पर एक संवाद है। नचिकेता ने अपने तीन वरदानों में सांसारिक पदार्थों से आगे की (अधिक) वस्तु माँगी जबकि यम ने उन्हें सांसारिक पदार्थों के अंदर की वस्तुएँ माँगने हेतु कहा। नचिकेता ने इसके विरुद्ध बहस की और इस तरह यह कथा बढ़ती है। सत्य के अन्वेषक की यह अत्यंत अद्भुत कथा है। यह भारतीय संस्कृति और और दार्शनिक विचारों के जिज्ञासुओं हेतु अत्यंत सजग प्रतिफल के योग्य है। यह उपनिषद् भारत में ही नहीं अपितु पूरे विश्व में बहुत प्रसिद्द है । यह उपनिषद् सब उपनिषदों में सर्वोत्तम उपनिषद के रूप में माना जाता है। इसका अन्य बहुत सी भाषाओँ अनुवाद किया जा चुका है । किन्तु यहाँ मैं इस उपनिषद को अपने ब्लॉग पर एक ही जगह दो भाषाओँ (हिंदी और अंग्रेजी) अनुवादित करने जा रहा हूँ
