Update: Brooksville Police Department Four Shot, Three Dead in Brooksville Shooting On 8/29/2014 at approximately 8:49PM officers of the Brooksville Police Department responded to 820 Peach St. Brooksville, Fl 34601 in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers found three deceased gunshot victims, Tarasha Yata Townsend B/F,08/09/1977 (in the roadway), Ralph Ray Peyton, B/M, 12/11/1984 and Jannie V. Taylor, B/F, 07/27/1933, (inside the residence). A fourth victim, Gabriel Frashawn Taylor, B/M, 07/19/1981 was located a short distance from the residence after he apparently fled from the Peach Street address during the shooting. Taylor was chased down and shot multiple times by the shooter. The shooter has been identified as George Mason III. He was struck by a passing motorist immediately after he shot Taylor on MLK Jr. Blvd. Mason sustained serious injuries and was transported to Bayonet Point Hospital. His condition is unknown at time of this release. Taylor was transported to Bayonet Point Hospital and is in critical condition. The firearm used in the shooting, a 9mm handgun was recovered at the scene. A motive has not been determined at this time and the investigation is continuing. Ralph Peyton, Jannie Taylor and Gabriel Taylor reside at 820 Peach St. Townsend and Mason(reportedly in a relationship),resided together, 24922 Oakhaven Ct, Lutz. Warrants are being prepared for the arrest of Mason and will be served today. Mason will be charged with three counts of homicide and one count of attempted homicide.
