Update From John, For those of you who have been following Joh, here is his end of race update. The picture link at the end is great, hope you can get to it. It would not load in google Chrome for me, had to cut and past it to Safari. GW Hey folks, back from my race and feeling good I wanted to say thanks for your words of encouragement. It was really nice to imagine that people were looking at my little dot move down the coast. Also, even with so much solitude (I was alone most of the race) these kind of things are not solo ventures. I was constantly reminded of the crew that was supporting me. Maybe it was a paddling jacket I was given as a christmas gift, help with a training plan, or even daring me to do a 65 mile paddle. Dads synopsis of the end of the race is pretty accurate so I will spare you a play by play. I will say that I had absolutely no intention of winning anything until I got to the last checkpoint and found out where I stood. I have put up a photo album that has captions that explain some things in the race. There are some interesting pics of the off the wall boats that people build for the race that are interesting. photos here John
