Update: Garrett had another good week of therapy and recovery. His grafts and donor burn sites seem to be healing well on his legs. His chest has been rather stubborn and still appears to be infected but in time Im sure it will respond to the medication. We had another eye appointment and his corneas have cleared more and in two weeks we go in for measurements for his cataract surgery. Garrett is making slow but steady progress with his physical and occupational therapy. He is making much better progress with his Speech therapy and has graduated to eating chopped food. His mom even brought up some chicken and dumplings! A favorite of Gs whenever he was sick. He said hmmmmm with every bite :) On a very awesome note: Garretts battalion leadership and soldiers from his unit at Ft. Hood came this Thursday for an award presentation for Garrett. He was given the Army Medal of Commendation and presented with the battalion colors. He was also presented coins from both the 1st Cavalry and the Warrior Transition Battalion (where he is now stationed). Garrett was very honored and very humble as you would expect Garrett to be. He enjoyed seeing his buddies from Ft. Hood as well. Thanks so much to everyone for your continued prayers. Garrett has made much progress and still has a long way to go but he remains living proof that God works miracles and this miracle is still in the making. God bless everyone!
