Update: Gidday, After no contact from council, or Mr Jonathon - TopicsExpress

Update: Gidday, After no contact from council, or Mr Jonathon Dykyj who was listed in the council letter as the contact, who had his mobile on messagebank, and the directors assistant who was taking the calls-but actually did not, the CEO returned my call about 4 pm. He seems a reasonable bloke , who said the demolish on Monday was on. I gave him some simple strait forward facts which he may not be aware of and he was going to rediscuss it with councillors and get back to me if there was to be any change. At 10.50 pm Friday, no messages. But at 6.20 pm Cr Boneventura (who I guess ,amongst the councillors may be the closest to Northern Beaches, as I believe he lives maybe in the Habana area) phoned me and we had a chat. There were a couple of real facts which he was not aware of, but is now. The conclusion of the conversation was that the councillors will not be changing the decision and are not interested in any enlightening discussions with the residents. There are now 2 undisclosed reasons for demolishing of which residents have not been informed of. Once again – ideology not based on fact or historical experience. I dare to guess that there has not been any on site look at the situation by councillors perhaps, before making the decision to demolish, as the access to the enclosure is not mown or maintained like other beach accesses, and there is a tree growing in the middle of it! There are a couple of other things that we cannot change. 1.... That Cr Morgan (who I have been informed is good person) is being hung out to dry on the matter that she stated to residents in the Daily Mercury on 15 April 2014, that there would be community discussions on the future of enclosures. By their imminent actions the council are leaving her high and dry on that one ! 2... We have been caught in some non cooperative spirit existing between Mr Costigan and Mrs Comerford and I don’t understand why . Mr Costigan, when he discovered at the Northern Beaches Network Community Day on 7th September, that we had concerns about the enclosure demolition, which he was not aware of, he offered to enquire on our behalf—as a resident should expect on the part of elected representatives. Simple as that !! The above has been circulated to all MRC councillors, along with an invitation to call at any time over the weekend (except during the Broncos V Cowboys game)
