Update: Moms CT scan looks normal for her age. Dr. McPherson - TopicsExpress

Update: Moms CT scan looks normal for her age. Dr. McPherson doesnt believe she had a stroke which is what he suspected last night. She was even able to tell him it was the 23rd last night. I have a hard time remembering what the date is, so I was very impressed considering her condition last night. Her heart is enlarged but is no larger than it has been in the past few years, so they also dont believe it is her heart. Tests showed a higher than normal white blood cell count, and an elevated creatinine level, but again in comparison to previous results, it is not much different for her. He is also not sure that she has pneumonia which is what they thought last night; however, he is still treating it as such. He does think she has labyrinthitis which he described as a sort of inner ear infection. Jessie Rhodes Dimmick, I didnt even have to ask him. He is going to check her numbers again tomorrow to be sure things are looking okay. She may get to come home tomorrow. She was feeling much better today and was able to have real food (mashed potatoes and gravy). Thank you Erin Hope Bunnell for your help last night, and thank you to everyone for your prayers. I dont believe prayers will save everyone because we arent meant to live forever. This is only our temporary home, and God will call us home some day. But I do believe that prayers bring peace to those hurting and to the situation which we definitely felt over the last couple days. I am very thankful, however, that mom is on the mend, and we get to enjoy her sense of humor awhile longer. When they did the CT scan last night, she asked them what that would do. The nurse told her it would take a picture of her brain. She said, Well, you will probably have a hard time finding it. She cracks us up. Again, thank you so much to all.
