Update: Penny Packard: The CAT scan results showed that the cancer in her pancreas has not changed in size and the stint placed there is still working properly. However, the cancer cells in the lining of her stomach have grown and the doctor believes this is the cause of her pain and inability to eat right now. The doctor plans on doing a procedure called paracentesis which will drain fluid off her abdomen in hopes of making her more comfortable. They have also scheduled a blood transfusion for later this week, as her levels are low. The doctor is proceeding with chemo treatment today and feels that the combination of the chemo, paracentesis, and transfusion will provide some much needed relief. Thank you for your continued prayers as this will be a very trying week for them both.
