Update: Suncor MacKay River In Situ site On June 10 at approximately 10:30 am, AOSTRA Road was closed about 2.25 km from the turnoff between Poplar Creek and Blacksands Lodge as a result of heavy rain. Work is being done to repair the road as quickly as possible. Suncor has established plans to mobilize employees and to ensure food, water & equipment supplies are provided to employees on site. As a precaution, water conservation initiatives have been implemented at some camps until the road has been repaired. Our priority is the safety of our employees, contractors and communities and we will continue to implement response plans that meet the essential needs of our people.
