Update: The Reel Cowboys 17th Annual Celebrity Silver Spur Awards Gala to Benefit the John Tracy Clinic for the Deaf August 19, 2014, Studio City, CA: On Friday, September 19, 2014, the Reel Cowboys, a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization preserving and advocating the history and appreciation of Western Film and Television, are honoring cowboys at the 17th Annual Silver Spur Awards Gala at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, California. Portions of the proceeds benefit the John Tracy Clinic for the Deaf; The largest private provider of services to families with young children with hearing loss (serving more than 25,000 families each year) and the leading diagnostic and education center for them. William Wellman, John Payne, Ann Robinson, Bob Minor, Stefanie Powers, Ruta Lee, Clayton Moore and Taylor ‘Cactus Mack’ McPeters, and more, will be honored. Guest appearances include Louis Gossett, Jr., Bo Svenson, Tab Hunter and Hugh O’Brian and more. Master of Ceremonies Darby Hinton, Presenter Rich Little, The Pledge of Allegiance singer Powers Booth, musicians Sandra Piller, her Bridge Crossers and Erwin Jackson are some of the evening’s talent present. At 6:00 PM, doors open for dinner, performances, awards, photo ops and silent and live auctions by Lauren Hammond, Jay Johnstone and Saul Escudero.
