Update: Thursday, July 17, 6:22 a.m. Good Morning....after Butch had his bump in the road last night, they gave him quite a bit of pain medication and a little more sedation. They have always known that the difficulty will be controlling his pain. They had talked about an epidural which is very effective for pain control, but he has a fractured T6 vertebra. Theyve pretty much ruled out an epidural and honestly Im a little relieved. Ive had a check in me about that from the first day and I said that to my family. When I was standing by his bed during his rough patch last night, he kept moving his head toward me, looking at me. I dont know if its good that hes trying to get to me or if its bad because it causes him to be a little agitated. Today his central line is showing more signs of infection. They are watching it closely but may decide to remove it. Theyve also sent more stuff down for cultures to determine if he has pneumonia. This is a common occurrence. In Jesus Name..... Thank you all so much for encouraging words, praying...PRAYING. Last night, after this episode, my spirit calmed down. I know that it is impossible to know how far reaching the support of Butch and our family extends. I am humbled and thankful.
