Update Time: I hit a bit of a snag in my recovery. Well, it turned out not to be a snag, but I thought it might be at first. I guess something traumatic like an accident, surgery, and/or a great deal of stress like say when traveling across the country right after surgery can trigger a womans menstrual cycle. That is a scary thing to see when not prepared. That scare, which my dr said was normal btw, combined with the fact that Kate and Josh live on a multi-level home (I am supposed to avoid stairs), with a rambunctious (and adorable) dog, led me to a new location. Im spending these first most crucial days with my friends the La Salles. They have a guest room with a private shower, and Cypress, aside from being my dear friend who I missed very much, is a nurse practitioner. So, I am once again in the best possible hands. I backed way off on my pain meds, and can finally get a little more food down, and have spent most of the day sleeping. That was exactly what I needed after the fiasco that was yesterday. I know people do medical tourism all the time, but it is not easy! I feel so fortunate to have such a support system. Everyone involved is looking out for me, and willing to whats best as I carefully heal so that my hernia doesnt come back. If you had told me 10 years ago that I would have a community like this in my life, I never would have believed you. I dont know how I got to be so lucky.
