Update Tues. 10/7/14 8pm: SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE 2-6 AM TOMORROW MORNING... TURNING NICE BY AFTERNOON. + DETAILED FORECAST FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK... A strong disturbance, accompanied by a cold front, will approach the area after midnight. Aided by plenty of energy and moisture from the south, showers and thunderstorms will develop and intensify rapidly as they approach the area. Any thunderstorms will have the potential to become strong to severe. While severe weather is not likely to happen over our area, it is a possibility. Damaging winds will be the primary threat, which could lead to scattered power outages (chances of schools being impacted tomorrow is less than 10%, but not impossible). Other threats include heavy rain, small hail, lightning, and also the possibility of a few isolated tornadoes! Worst weather will occur anytime between 2 and 6am. Storms will be brief, but possibly intense. Have a backup battery alarm set before bed tonight. Strong storms will depart quickly after 6am tomorrow, followed by clearing skies. The rest of the day will be blustery, but warm and mostly sunny with a high in the low to mid 70s. Thursday will be fair and still blustery, but cooler with near seasonable temps. Friday looks cool with more clouds around. Its currently uncertain how far north rain will get, but a light to moderate period of rain is possible for late Friday through early Saturday. This will change, so stay tuned! The weekend will turn out fair and cool.
